As the Roosevelt Field mall and the Long Island community it’s served since 1956 continue to grow and change, one of the mall’s enduring traditions is Santa Claus’s visit at the end of each year, when parents have their children’s pictures taken with him.

This Thanksgiving week I took news photos of Santa’s visit with 3 1/2-year-old Patrick and his family. And it turns out my older daughter and her husband took their six-month-old son to visit Santa right there earlier that week.
