Flurry of Snowfalls

From LONG ISLAND – by Ann Parry (ann-parry.com)

During Long Island’s winter of 2013-2014, it snowed…

Merrick, New York, U.S. January 21, 2014. Snow falls heavily on the windy elevated platform of the Merrick LIRR train station as towns declare snow emergency, with up to 10 inches of snow expected. The Metropolitan Transit Authority added extra afternoon trains to Long Island Rail Road. (Ann Parry/Ann Parry, ann-parry.com)

NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade

From LONG ISLAND – by Ann Parry (ann-parry.com)
March 24, 2013

The snow didn’t stop the thousands of people marching in the 252nd Annual NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade last Saturday, March 16, 2013, and well over a million people lined Fifth Avenue to watch and celebrate.

March 16, 2013 - New York, NY, U.S. - At the 252nd annual NYC St. Patrick's Day Parade, thousands of marchers show their Irish pride, as they march up Fifth Avenue, and over a million people, often in green and orange, watch and celebrate. Those marching, many who wore kilts, uniforms, colorful costumes, sashes, included Bag and Pipe Bands; Irish dancers; fire, police, military, religious, educational, and social groups.
